These Terms govern your use of Light Strategies. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
The service
Light Strategies summarizes publicly available municipal agendas in plain English and ranks items by relevance to your business. Summaries are generated by automated tools and reviewed by humans, but they are not legal advice and may contain errors. Always confirm important details with the originating municipality.
Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
Subscription, billing, and cancellation
- Founding Member access is $29 per month, billed automatically until canceled.
- You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate partial months.
- If you believe you've been charged in error, email support@lightstrategies.co within 30 days and we'll make it right.
- We may change pricing for new members; the Founding Member rate is locked for active subscribers as long as their subscription remains active without lapse.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service. That includes: scraping or republishing our content at scale, reverse-engineering, sharing your login, attempting to break security or rate limits, or using the service to harass or harm others.
Intellectual property
Our software, summaries, and branding are owned by Light Strategies and protected by law. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use them for your own business while your subscription is active. The underlying public records remain in the public domain.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that summaries will be complete, accurate, or up to date, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet your specific needs.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Light Strategies' total liability arising from or relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or activity that risks harm to the service or other users. You may cancel anytime as described above.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Winnebago County, Illinois.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
