Light Strategies ("Light Strategies", "we", "us") provides a municipal agenda-tracking service for small business owners. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash).
- Profile preferences — your business name, industry, and the municipalities you choose to track.
- Billing information — handled by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number.
- Usage data — basic logs (timestamps, IP, browser) needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
- To personalize your feed, score priorities, and send the alerts you opt into.
- To process your subscription, send receipts, and provide customer support.
- To keep the service secure (fraud prevention, abuse detection, rate limiting).
- To improve the product — in aggregated, de-identified form whenever possible.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with vendors that help us operate the service (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, error monitoring) under contracts that limit their use of your data. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We retain your account and profile data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; we will remove your personal data within 30 days of deletion, except where law requires us to keep records (e.g. billing).
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email privacy@lightstrategies.co.
Security
We protect your data in transit with TLS and at rest with industry-standard encryption. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Children
Light Strategies is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
